Introducing the GM 14088843 1984 Corvette Camshaft Lifters Dist Gear, a crucial component for maintaining the optimal performance of your C4 Corvette engine. This part is specifically designed for the 1984 model year and is an essential element of the camshaft lifter assembly.
The camshaft lifters, also known as cam followers, transfer the reciprocating motion of the camshaft to the intake and exhaust valves. The dist gear, or distributor gear, is an integral part of the camshaft lifter assembly as it drives the distributor, which in turn delivers spark to the engine's cylinders.
This GM part is meticulously engineered to meet OEM specifications. It is manufactured using high-quality materials to ensure durability and reliability, even after extensive use, such as in engines with approximately 38,000 miles. The lifters are designed to minimize friction between the camshaft and the lifter pads, which not only improves engine efficiency but also helps extend the lifespan of other engine components.
Installing this GM 14088843 1984 Corvette Camshaft Lifters Dist Gear is a straightforward process. It is compatible with the 1984 Corvette C4 models and can be easily replaced by following the instructions in your vehicle's service manual. By upgrading your worn-out or failing camshaft lifter dist gear, you'll not only restore the performance of your engine but also ensure the longevity and smooth operation of your Corvette.

The GM 14088843 1984 Corvette Camshaft Lifters Dist. Gear is a crucial component for the proper functioning of the engine in a 1984 Corvette. If you are considering purchasing this part, it is essential to weigh its advantages and disadvantages before making a decision.
Pros:1. OEM Part: This part is an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) component, ensuring it is a factory-designed and manufactured piece that fits perfectly in your 1984 Corvette.
2. Improved Performance: A worn-out or malfunctioning camshaft lifter distributor gear can negatively affect engine performance. Replacing this part can lead to improved idle stabilization, smoother engine operation, and better fuel efficiency.
3. Longer Engine Life: Addressing the issue with the camshaft lifter distributor gear can prevent further damage to other engine components and potentially extend the engine's life.
Cons:1. Cost: The price point of this part may be relatively high for some budgets, making it a significant investment for some Corvette owners.

However, if budget constraints are a concern, it may be worth considering alternative options or prioritizing other repairs.
Recommendation:If the 1984 Corvette is your daily driver or if you frequently use it for long trips, investing in a high-quality aftermarket alternative or a remanufactured part may be a more cost-effective solution. These options can offer similar performance improvements while costing less than the OEM part. However, if the vehicle is a valuable collector's item or if you prioritize using genuine GM parts, then the OEM part is the recommended choice.
Shipping is to the USA only, all other destinations please inquire before purchasing. Basically no wear from one lobe to the next. Listed as parts/not working because I cannot control installation and break-in methods. Matching set of camshaft, lifters and distributor gear all from an excellent running 38K original miles 1984 Corvette.
Oil was religiously changed and zinc additive always used. Lifters have zero cupping and are all labeled from respective cam lobes. All intake lobes and all exhaust measure within 5/10,000ths of each other. I truly believe this a better alternative than modern replacement, which seem to have 50/50 chance of going flat at break-in.
